Maggie Beer

Maggie Beer AO, Australian cook and food icon, established the Maggie Beer Foundation in 2014, with a mission to change the food and dining experience in aged care. Her mission is to “make every mouthful count” as we age, ensuring older people, whether living in their own home or an aged care home, have access to flavourful, nutritious food that brings pleasure. Maggie will tell the story of the Foundation, and its ongoing advocacy, training, programs and awareness raising about the very real risk of malnutrition as we age. And, while good nutrition is a central theme, the role of food in creating joy, purpose and social opportunities is integral to Maggie’s vision. Food, she says, is about creating an appetite for life!
