Ageing skin becomes thinner, less elastic, and slower to heal, increasing vulnerability to injury. Frailty further raises the risk due to reduced mobility, poor nutrition, and chronic illness. Effective wound management requires holistic assessment, appropriateĀ treatment, and infection prevention. Early identification of risk and proactive prevention strategies are essential to reduce skin injuries and improve outcomes for older adults.
